So I had a dose of Zomeda (a medication used to treat osteoporosis) about two weeks ago. This medication had had some severe and gnarly side effects on me! It has inflamed all of my joints causing swelling and, of course, pain. Recently, my wrists have been my biggest pain. Side note, my wrist pain has started on/off since I was pregnant with my twins. This is very common in preggos or new mommies due to flexibility of the joints and swelling from fluid retention. Usually, this improves and goes away after the hormones settle. Lucky for me, I had babies AND chemotherapy at the same time! So my joints have taken several hits.
I also tend to sleep with my hands bent (think Phallen test) which likely worsens my joints.
The time had come for the need of wrist guards at bedtime since the numbness is taking all day to improve and the pain is pretty persistent. I tried these wrist guards and LOVE them since they are small and comfortable to use while I sleep! I would even recommend for use during the day if needed.
